First, let's review where the Gators have been lately:
Following four sacks by Tim Tebow, an offense that was often only one dimensional and a really big lack of what we like to see in terms of big play production, the Gators may have won against Vanderbilt but they did not spank the competition the way that many people had predicted. The defense was still quite superb in terms of this 27 to 3 win, which only allowed Vanderbilt to enter into the red zone one time throughout the entire game.
The Gators did not have a single offensive passive play that was longer than a distance of 21 yards before the 64-yard passing play by tight edge Aaron Hernandez, which happened late during the fourth quarter of the game. Tebow did display great accuracy with a total of 15 out of 20 completions for a total of 208 yards; however he often seemed to be looking rather uncomfortable in the pocket.
Now let's look ahead to see what the Gators are going up against next:
South Carolina, sitting at a record of 6 wins and 4 losses looks to be poised for yet another meltdown late in the season after having started the year with 5 and 1. The USC offense has only scored a total of three touch downs total in their losses to Arkansas and Tennessee, compiling nearly 750 yards on the USC defense which was once quite steady. The quarterback for the team, who is Stephen Garcia, has taken great strikes during his sophomore year of play, and yet he has received what seems to be absolutely no help from the team's ground game.
Now let's see where the UF Gators are in terms of injuries this week:
The running back Chris Rainey has a shoulder injury, and the wide receiver Deonte Thompson has a rib contusion injury and yet both of these players seemed to play just fine against Vanderbilt after having been limited in the practices over last week. Brand Antwine has a shoulder injury, Carl Moore a wide receiver has a back injury, Jeremy Brown has a back injury and Brendan Beal has a neck and back injury, and all four of these players could potentially be out for the remainder of the football season.
This week running back Emmanuel Moody said that at 19 and 0, teams are really beginning to come out and gun for the Gators. Many teams are listing the Gators as their most important game to win, and teams are finding themselves scheming in an attempt to beat the as yet undefeated UF Gators once and for all.
Cooper in Florida Returning for His Senior Season Riley Cooper, a receiver from Florida, who has made plans to play baseball for the Rangers in Texas has decided to return to the football field for a senior playing season. Urban Meyer, coach for the Florida Gators, made the announcement regarding Cooper's decision on this past Tuesday. This was......

While playing in front of a grand total of 90,694 fans of the team, the No 1 Florida team, the Gators managed to win a 19th game in a row following a 27 to 3 victory against Vanderbilt while playing in Saturday in the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The Gators are now 9 and 0 for the season and 7 and 0 for the SEC conference, and they managed to hold back the Commodores, who are 2 and 8 for the season and 0 and 6 for the SEC to only a total of 99 rushing yards and 100 passing yards. This is the sixth time so far this season that the defense on the UF team has managed to hold an opponent back to less than 100 yards total rushing.
This 9 and 0 start is the third time ever this has happened in the entire history of the school.
Led by the senior quarterback, who is Tim Tebow, who managed to complete 15 out of 20 total passes for a total of 208 yards and a single touchdown, the UF Gators managed to rack up a total of 227 yards in the air, accompanying 148 yards total on the ground while playing against the Commodores.
The Junior tight end, who is Aaron Hernandez from Bristol, Connecticut, had what was a true career day, after he tallied a career-tying number of receptions, seven in total, for 120 yards in the air, a career high for him. This included a 64 yard haul during the fourth which was also a career record for him.
After both teams managed to start slowly, including two different punts for the Vanderbilt team during their first two possessions, and a single punt for the Gators on their first possession, the Gators finally managed to put some points on the board with only a single minute left during the first quarter, when they nabbed a 27 yard long field goal on the behalf of Caleb Sturgis. Florida managed to swing into action with a 75 yard and 13 play drive including an excellent 14-yard long reception on the behalf of a redshirt senior by the name of David Nelson as well as a 21-yard long catch on the behalf of Hernandez, allowing the team to take a lead early on in the game.
During the fourth quarter, with only around 11 minutes left on the clock, Florida was taking advantage of errors on Vanderbilt's part to extend the lead to a whopping 27 to 3. This was Nelson's first touchdown for the season, and it concluded the scoring for both of the teams, resulting in the game's final score of 27 to 3.

Reportedly, Urban Meyer, Brandon Spikes and Tim Tebow met and had a meeting with other key members of the team and it has been said that everyone is now on the same page when it comes to the Gators team. Obviously some of the results from the post-Mississippi State meeting has been seen since the Gators managed to take a 41 to 17 win against the Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia should have taken the chance to wear their black helmets for the very first time but they squandered the opportunity instead.
The Gators are now going to have to focus all of their attention on the very next stop on their tour which is Vanderbilt. Right now Vanderbilt is at 2 and 7 for the season and 0 and 5 for the SEC conference play, and for the SEC East Division they are currently in last place. Offensively, they have actually been pretty offensive during this past season. They are currently ranked 93rd in terms of total offense, 109th in terms of passing offense and 110th in terms of scoring offense in the country. Defensively it seems that they have fared a little better, but they are not fairing well enough to concern the Gators in the slightest.
Tim Tebow and his roommate Riley Cooper the wide receiver have both seemed to have ironed out whatever wrinkles were previously in the playbook. Right now both Dave Nelson and Deonte Thompson are absent in terms of the passing attack. A current playmaker is the tight end Aaron Hernandez, who is making plays every single time that he touches the ball.
The running game in Florida is still quite potent, especially with Chris Rainey, Jeff Demps and Emmanuel Moody. The Gators are ranked at 6th in the Nation and they are averaging 252.25 yards for each game on the ground. Tim Tebow is definitely making up a lot of those yards himself.
It is important that the Florida Gators keep their attention on the Vanderbilt Commodores this week, but it seems that their mind is on other things. Urban Meyer is going to tell you that his team is only preparing for the Commodores right now, and that they are not thinking about the looming upcoming South Carolina game. He will tell you that the team is not even going to think about the South Carolina game until the days following the Vanderbilt football game. Unfortunately, we know quite well that it is human nature to look ahead, and the Florida Gators are almost certainly wondering about their future.
The OBC is definitely looking forward to a stop by the Gators in Columbia in the following two weeks.
Florida has a lot of improving to do, especially in terms of offense. The offensive line also has to improve in terms of pass protection because they cannot go on forever relying on Tebow.

Anyone that is interested in Georgia's football likely found themselves wondering about the future of the Bulldogs following their most recent battle, a game against the Florida Gators. The Gators simply happened to be commanding all throughout the entire game, and they further widened the gap between these two rival programs. This was the 17th loss out of the last 20 games for Georgia. Georgia needed to be able to find some kind of edge, or they had to be able to land a first punch. They had to be able to withstand the Florida Gators' initial blow and then somehow find a way to counter. But none of this seemed to happen.
Coming out with black helmets and black pants was supposed to be able to provide some extra juice according to the coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, Mark Richt.
Florida managed to get the ball rolling by scoring an initial 14 points. Georgia had four penalties in the first quarter alone, and by the time half time rolled around, Florida was in the lead with 24 to 10. The Bulldogs had managed to move the ball, scoring a bit and slowing down the offense on Florida's side, but they could not manage to make a comeback no matter how they tried. The notion was essentially stomped into the dust after four interceptions during the second half. Georgia was not without their moments, but they simply could not stack up their offense against Florida to make enough scores, or their defense to prevent Florida from piling on the points.
Georgia needed to achieve another score or another stop, but it didn't happen. The Gators seemed to be against the idea of slipping, not even for a moment. Losing 17 out of the last 20 games really wreaks havoc when you consider the psyche of the Bulldogs, and it doesn't even really seem as if this is a rivalry anymore.
The team responsible for doing all of the winning, the Florida Gators, simply appears to be bigger and faster and stronger. Every play has been spun positively in the favor of the Gators, even those that were in Georgia's favor. Everything is compared and contrasted between the teams, but it always seems to be depressing for the Georgia team since they have not been able to hold up their end of the rivalry in quite a while.
If Tim Tebow wasn't playing some fine football, Georgia may have had a chance. Unfortunately, limiting this quarterback is hard, and he is certainly doing a lot of work on the field. He threw two touch downs, ran two touch downs and just performed superbly throughout the game. Georgia simply could not stack up against the power of the Gators, and so the rivalry continues in the Gators' favor.

The University of Florida Gators are having some offense problems, it seems, and this is becoming the fuel that Georgia needs to get pumped up for the upcoming game.
Looking Ahead -
The output on the behalf of Georgia has really paled in comparison to their previous seasons. The defense with the Bulldogs, who are at 4 and 3 right now, is currently last in the entire SEC with a total of 27.7 average points allowed for each game, and truth be told, the offense for the team is not doing much better either. And still, the Georgia team really seems to have a chance this upcoming Saturday simply because of the fact that the Gators are struggling in the red zone. Plus, the Georgia team wants to avenge their loss to the Gators last year. In this rivalry, Georgia is sitting at 3 wins and 16 losses since the year 1990.
In Review -
If you take away their lack of production in the red zone, the Gators seem to have had a pretty decent game in their win of 29 to 19 against Mississippi State. They managed to rush for a total of 172 yards in the first half, and the team's defense did not allow for an offensive touchdown while rushing toward three interceptions and three sacks. Florida still converted one of six trips to the red zone into touchdowns as a result of the predictable action on the behalf of Tim Tebow, who was alternating between rushing and rolling on play action. Still, Tim Tebow only completed 12 out of 27 for a total of 127 yards, making this the worst game for him out of his entire career.
Current Injury Update -
Right now, running back Jeff Demps who has been out with a sprained neck is looking to be returning to practice as early as Tuesday or Wednesday. Brandon Antwine, DT, managed to re-injure an old problem with his shoulder, so he is not likely to be returning this week. According to Urban Meyer, a number of players are slated to be returning this week, including LB Brandon Spikes who was out on a groin injury, Lawrence Marsh who was out on an ankle injury, Jaye Howard who was out on a knee injury and Justin Trattou who was out on a bicep injury.
Quote -
Regarding the red zone offense for the University of Florida Gators, Urban Meyer, coach of the team said that this is an area that has, in the past, been a strength, and it will get back to being a strength again.

The top ranked football team University of Florida went up against Mississippi in Starkville during Saturday night, and they came away with their very first win against this team since the year 1985, managing to hold on tight to claim a win of 29 to 19, improving their score to 7 and 0 for the season as well as 5 and 0 for the Southeastern Conference. The Bulldogs in Mississippi have moved to 3 and 5 overall, and in conference play their current standings are 1 - 3.
Florida currently owns the longest winning streak in the nation with a total of 17 wins in a row, and they have, in the past, won nine SEC road games straight in a row, dating back to their famous 2007 season. The University of Florida has managed to improve to an overall score of 7 and 0 for the very first time since their season in 1996, and they went 3 and 0 against the SEC West teams for the very first time since the year 1998.
The Senior Quarterback with the team, Tim Tebow from Jacksonville in Florida managed to lead his team with a total of 127 passing yards and 88 ground yards. He also had a 26 yard run for a touchdown that tied the record with Hershel Walker of 49 total rushing touchdowns in the SEC. The redshirt sophomore RB, Chris Rainey, managed to add an additional 90 yards while on the ground as well as a touchdown, and he also blocked a punt on the behalf of the Gators.
The Florida defense managed to step up again, limiting the offense for the Mississippi State team to only two field goals and a grand total sum of 237 yards. They managed to hold the Bulldogs back without a single third down conversion until about midway through the final quarter, and they managed to intercept Tyson Lee, the team's quarterback a total of three times. They also managed to hold the running back Anthony Dixon for Mississippi State to his season low of rushing yards at only 53 yards after he entered into the game averaging at around 116 yards per game.
The Gators managed to open the game by forcing an interception during the third play out from scrimmage. They started the game strong, and it was clear that they were going to do everything that they could to maintain a lead to keep their perfect record going for as long as possible. The Gators offense is still having some difficulties, but as long as the defense continues to step up, they may be able to maintain their streak.
With a lead of 29 to 19, the Orange and Blue managed to walk away with a seventh consecutive win, putting them at 7 and 0 for the season and 5 and 0 in the SEC.

Turnovers are Sticking in the Mind of Urban Meyer!
With a game against Mississippi State pending, Urban Meyer is looking at the team's current capabilities to determine whether or not the Florida Gators are going to continue their winning streak for another round.
In terms of the offense, the gators have been struggling to run the ball during the first few quarters of the last game, but they still managed to make 100 yards just in during the fourth quarter. They had a total of four fumbles which were completely inexcusable, and so was the dropped touchdown pass on the behalf of Riley Cooper, as well as six sacks. The other receivers besides Cooper were continuing to struggle, and the Gators only managed to convert four out of thirteen third-downs.
In terms of the defense, they were really put in a bad situation by the offense with two fumbles inside of Florida territory. They did manage to force three and outs following two fumbles within the Arkansas red zone.
As far as special teams go, Caleb Sturgis managed to miss a field goal early on, but he responded well with three more, including one that was 51 yards and managed to win the game with a mere nine seconds left on the clock. The Gators still seem in capable of getting their return game going, however, and they really did not do a good job when it came to kickoff coverage.
As far as scouting the opponent is concerned, Mississippi State, which sits at 3 to 4 and 1 to 2 in the SEC is coming away from a victory in Middle Tennessee of 27 to 6. The Bulldogs, who are led by the former offensive coordinator for UF, Dan Mullen, happen to have one of the best backs in the entire league, who is Anthony Dixen. He was the career rushing leader for MSU. Still, they seem to struggle when it comes to throwing the ball, averaging at about 174 yards with each game, and they are ranking near the bottom of the SEC's leader board when it comes to most of the defensive categories.
The UF Gators coach, Urban Meyer, has already said that he has blocked off a section of the upcoming practice where the Gators are going to be spending some extra time and effort working on their ball security. There may need to be a couple of sessions of this in order to get the UF Gators up to snuff on their ball security.
The Gators definitely need a lot of work here because they have turned the ball over a total of eleven times in the span of only six games, and this figure includes a total of nine fumbles, and four of those fumbles were in the victory game against Arkansas this past Saturday. The Gators obviously need some work before they go up against Mississippi in their next game.
Game Preview: Kentucky Wildcats vs Gators The Florida Gators will be continuing the SEC action when they go to Lexington in Kentucky on September 26 to visit the Wildcats. In a performance that was both sloppy and riddled with mistakes, the Florida Gators were lucky to have managed to pull out with a win this past Saturday against the Razorbacks in Arkansas thanks to a 27 yard long field goal that was made with only nine seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, ending the game. This field goal managed to break a tie, 20 to 20, capping the end of the game that somehow saw the Gators handling the ball over four separate times on fumbles, failing to protect Tim Tebow adequately and giving up a number of very big plays thanks to the team's defense.
The first drive for the game on the Gator's behalf set the tone quite early, as well as foreshadowed the very long and tedious afternoon that they were in store for. After managing to take over at the midfield following a three and out by Arkansas, Florida drove the ball all the way to the 14 yard line on Arkansas' side. A sack and a missed field goal gave the ball back over to Arkansas, just one of many of the missed opportunities for scoring that Florida experienced during this game.
No points were scored during the first quarter of the game, although Arkansas did manage to punch the ball in during the first play on the second quarter from the one yard line on Florida's side. The first two possessions by Florida during the second quarter resulted in fumbles, and both were within ten yards of the goal. The third possession brought Florida a score with a field goal from the 30. By the point of halftime, Arkansas was winning against Florida with a score of 10 to 3.
Field goals are really what carried the Gators during the game. Despite turnovers and fumbles, they managed to take their first lead during the game with a 77 yard touchdown on the behalf of Tim Tebow and Deonte Thompson. Still, Arkansas did not show any signs of quitting, and they kept marching in an attempt to regain the lead. With only seconds remaining in the fourth quarter of the game, the two teams were tied, 20 to 20, and it was a field goal that knocked the Gators into the lead just in time to cap the end of the game and walk away with another win.
The game was riddled with problems, mistakes, fumbles and turnovers, all of which were completely unnecessary. Despite the fact that the Gators have been performing well, with a so far winning streak during this season, they do not seem to be playing at the top of their game, and there are big holes that need improvements. This was a close game, and the coaches of both teams are likely scouring footage of the game trying to determine what went wrong so that this performance will never be repeated again by either team.
2009 Defense Preview The defense nearly had to start from scratch just two years ago when nine brand new starters were thrown right into the fire. After experiencing a great year, 11 starters are back, creating one heck of a brick wall of a defense. All the top reserves are coming back and......

The Gators football team is going to be going up against Arkansas on Saturday, October the 17. The game is going to be televised on CBS at 3:30 pm according to the SEC, the Southeastern Conference, when they made an announcement during this past Sunday. This is the third appearance that Florida is going to be making on the CBS station during this 2009 series alone. They just recently notched an excellent 13 to 3 victory over the number 4 team in the country, the LSU tigers, which they achieved in front of a truly record breaking crowd at Tiger Stadium this past weekend. In front of a crowd of more than 93,000 screaming fans at Tiger Stadium, the No. 1 Florida Gator team that currently sits at 5 and 0 with 3 and 0 for the SEC managed to take down the number 4 team, the LSU Tigers, who are currently sitting at 5 and 1 and 3 and 1 SEC with an end game score of 13 to 3 on Saturday.
The University of Florida Gators currently hold a 56 to 23 (.709) mark of all time on this particular network.
Here's a look at the upcoming SEC football games that are slated to be held on Saturday, October the 17:

The Florida Gators college football team has managed to prevail again, defeated Baton Rouge Louisiana's Tigers with 13 to 3 this past week.
In front of a record breaking crowd of more than 93,000 screaming fans at Tiger Stadium, the No. This managed to extend the longest active winning streak in the nation for a team on the road with fifteen games and running so far. This win by Florida managed to snap the Saturday Night winning streak that the LSU team was maintaining up until now. The Gators managed to hold the Tigers to a mere 162 yards in total offense while playing this week in Baton Rouge.
The senior quarterback, who is Tim Tebow from Jacksonville in Florida managed to complete 11 out of 16 passes, and he threw a touchdown in the team's victory. The junior tight end for the Gators, Aaron Hernandez who is from Bristol in Connecticut managed to lead the receiving corps for the team, and he managed to reel in a total of six receptions for a total of 70 yards. Jeff Demps, a sophomore athlete from Winter Garden in Florida managed to amass a total of 86 yards on a total of 16 carries, which helped to lead Florida on the ground.
It wasn't even until the second quarter that LSU managed to score. A failed conversion during the fourth down with 12:08 remaining during the second quarter allowed LSU to take the ball on their own 20, and then a series of penalties on Florida's behalf allowed the LSU Tigers to advance a total of 77 yards down the field, where they claimed 3 points with a field goal on the behalf of John Jasper.
Luckily, the Gators were able to maintain their defense, keeping LSU at 3. They held the Tigers throughout the next few quarters. During the fourth quarter, and after securing four consecutive first downs, LSU had to turn the ball over to the Gators on downs, and this sealed in the victory of 13 to 3 on the behalf of the Florida Gators.
