The wildcats, in the meantime, are trying to learn from their past mistakes against the gators.
Rich Brooks is not really sure what it is going to take for Kentucky to upset the Gators, who are currently top ranked. The Gators are coming to the Commonwealth Stadium in Kentucky this upcoming Saturday.
What he does know, however, is what it is not going to take, which is another poor performance that is similar to the one that they exhibited in their comeback win of 31 to 27 against their arch-rivals Louisville over this past weekend. According to Brooks, during that came they gave up too many really big plays for his liking.
Playing against Louisville, the Wildcats managed to rally twice during the second half, allowing them to overcome three turnovers in the third quarter as well as a barrage of long-yard plays that were orchestrated by the offense of Louisville.
According to the coach, these turnovers are absolutely inexcusable. It is not normal for the turnover battle to be lost and the game to still be won, according to Brooks. If you keep making big mistakes, then you are not going to win any game. You definitely are not going to win against the team that is currently no. 1 in the entire country.
Brooks has said that he is working on a game plan to help him with Florida that is going to minimize the amount of turnovers as well as big plays. He wants his team to be able to focus on the things that they do fundamentally well with. He added that the ability for Tennessee to handle the explosive offense of Florida over the weekend was not going to be the basis for the game plan that Kentucky was planning for the upcoming game.
Right now Florida is facing a flu outbreak among many of its players. Brooks acknowledged this and mentioned that the mention of his team's health was also currently a concern leading up to the game on Saturday. He said that Antwane Glenn the sophomore defensive tackle was excused from practice on Sunday after he began to show symptoms resembling the flu. Glenn is going to be isolated from the rest of the team and they are currently working on testing him for H1N1, at least if his symptoms begin to get worse. With the swine flu, this is about more than player simply getting the flu because swine flu could turn it into serious business and a cause for real concern.

Steve Spurrier recently confirmed upon appearing at the SEC media days that he was in fact the person that snubbed the Florida Gators player Tim Tebow during the coach's voting for the preseason All-SEC player team.
Ole Mississippi football coach, Houston Nutt, says that he voted for Tebow as All-SEC. He also talked about what made quarterback Jevan Snead so great, and the pressure on for Old Miss to really step up and compete for a championship in the conference.
But it was because of a complete oversight, according to the South Carolina coach, who addressed the matter immediately during a new conference. Spurrier went on to explain that the director of football operations filled the ballot out and then brought it into him. He said that he just glanced at it, signing off on it, and did not realize the mistake that had been made until later.
The ballot that was submitted to the SEC on the behalf of South Carolina had listed Mississippi's Snead as the first team quarterback, rather than Tebow. Spurrier is taking full responsibility, and is putting emphasis on his belief that Tebow was one of the best quarterbacks in all of Florida history. He claims to be embarrassed about it, feeling badly that it happened, and he has apologized to Tebow.
The SEC associate-commissioner, Charles Bloom, has confirmed to ESPN.com that Spurrier made a call within the last 24 hours asking how his ballot could be changed in order to list Tebow as the quarterback for the first time. Spurrier told Charles Bloom that his initial ballot was a mistake when it listed Snead as the quarterback for the first team.
Each of the other coaches has confirmed on record that Tebow was voted for. Coaches could not vote for their own players, meaning that a unanimous vote would constitute 11 out of the 12 votes. The only unanimous selection for the preseason team were offensive tackle Ciron Black from LSU, safety Eric Berry from Tennessee and receiver Julio Jones from Alabama.
